The Fusion Middleware Application Server learning paths prepare you to develop, integrate, and deploy your enterprise’s applications, portals, and Web services. Based on a powerful and scalable J2EE server, Oracle Application Server provides complete business integration, business intelligence suites, and best-of-breed portal software. These paths give you the knowledge and experience to manage the details of this powerful software and help your organization succeed in the complex world of Internet business.
The Application Server Administrator learning path teaches you how to install the Oracle Application Server Infrastructure and Middle Tier (Portal and Wireless), upgrade Oracle AS Portal from 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.4, manage Oracle Application Server Infrastructure instances, and configure and manage Oracle Application Server Web Cache, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE (OC4J), and Oracle Application Server Portal. Administrators also manage Oracle Internet Directory, administer the Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On Server, manage Oracle Application Server Certificate Authority, perform backup and recovery for Oracle Application Server, perform cloning and staging of Oracle Application Server, manage OracleAS Cluster (Web Cache), and deploy OracleAS Forms, Oracle Reports, and OracleBI Discoverer.
This path provides skills for accessing and using Oracle Application Server management tools and for deploying J2EE Web applications, the recommended enterprise topologies, and the high-availability and disaster recovery features in Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.2).
This course is the suggested follow-up to Oracle Application Server 10g R2: Administration I. The participants learn about the recommended enterprise topologies, high availability implementation, and disaster recovery features in Oracle Application Server. This course counts towards the Hands-on course requirement for the Oracle Application Server 10g Administrator Certification. Only instructor-led inclass or instructor-led online formats of this course will meet the Certification Hands-on Requirement. Self Study CD-Rom and Knowledge Center courses are excellent study and reference tools but DO NOT meet the Hands-on Requirement for certification.
