Not only does an Oracle Applications DBA assume the role of a database administer, but also focuses on administering many of the components for the Oracle Applications Release r12 as well as database versions Oracle10g and Oracle11g. Effectively managing Oracle Applications requires an understanding of the underlying architecture, configuration including, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and patching.
